The Real Test

Task

We had a Notion workspace with 6 months of meeting notes, project briefs, and decision logs (about 200 pages). We asked Notion AI: "What are all the unresolved decisions about our pricing model?"

Result

Notion AI found 4 of 6 relevant discussions across different pages and summarised the key points from each. It missed two decisions buried in sub-pages of a different database. The answer was useful but not exhaustive — a human skimming the same pages would have caught all 6. Still, it saved about 45 minutes of manual searching.

If You Only Use One Feature

Workspace Q&A. Being able to ask "What did we decide about X?" and get an answer synthesised from across your entire Notion workspace is genuinely useful. It turns Notion from a knowledge dump into a searchable knowledge base.

Pricing Reality

Notion AI is an add-on at $10/member/month on top of your existing Notion plan. For a team of 5, that's $50/month extra just for AI features. Free Notion users get a limited trial. The value depends entirely on how much you use Notion — if it's your primary workspace, $10/member is reasonable. If you use Notion casually, it's overpriced for what you get.
